President Obama's first pick
The new president will be under more pressure than a carbon molecule deep inside an encapsulated pocket beneath the earth anywhere on the planet. Being that he has roots in Africa (as we all do - black, white, brown, red, yellow or otherwise) I would suspect that in time and without prematurely “digging him out” we will see the brilliance that we have come to expect in seeing from the stones that are unearthed and “jewelled” into objects of admiration and desire.
As he begins to form and structure his posture to govern he has selected one of the people who has a very strong connection to AIPAC, a lobby for Israel that has influenced American foreign policy in regards to issues that affect life and conditions in the Middle East.
We should be and stay current with the choices President-elect Obama makes and voice our concerns when those choices do not support his campaign pledges.
He does support Israel’s claim to exist in the occupied land that it has captured. That was to be expected. He should also be just as committed to realizing solutions to alleviate the plight of Palestinians who are living under the oppressive measures that Zionist-Israel employs to strip and continue the dehumanization of those of Palestinian descent living there.
Rahm Emmanuel’s appointment as Chief of Staff is not one that I personally would hope that Obama made. But he did and I do not support it.
